New Mexico Educational Retirement Board, Santa Fe, committed $40 million to private equity fund Edison Venture Partners VIII, managed by Edison Partners, said Bob Jacksha, chief investment officer for the $11.4 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
The pension fund previously committed to fund VII.
Separately, pension fund officials are moving the pension fund’s $83 million investment in EMSO Partners’s EMSO Emerging Markets Debt fund. to another of the firm’s funds, EMSO Seguro. EMSO Seguro takes more concentrated positions, Mr. Jacksha wrote.
Also, the pension fund earned a net return of 7.7% for the year ended March 31. The five-year net annualized return as of the same date was 8.8% and 10 years, 6.9%.
