Effie Datson joined State Street Corp. as global head of product for its alternative investment solutions division, a spokesman said.
The position is new, and Ms. Datson is based in London.
Ms. Datson is tasked with expanding InfraHedge's global footprint. InfraHedge is a subsidiary and State Street's $15 billion managed account platform.
“There is a huge opportunity in the managed accounts space as large asset owners start to take much greater direct control over their investments and behave increasingly like asset managers,” said George Sullivan, executive vice president and global head of alternatives investment solutions at State Street, in a news release. Ms. Datson reports to Mr. Sullivan.
Ms. Datson previously was global co-head of hedge fund sales at Deutsche Bank. A Deutsche spokesman declined to comment.
