Andrew J. “Buddy” Donohue was named chief of staff at the Securities and Exchange Commission, spokesman Kevin Callahan said.
Mr. Donohue will replace Lona Nallengara, who is leaving the SEC at the end of June. Mr. Callahan had no further information on a start date or Mr. Nallengara’s future plans.
Mr. Donohue will be the lead adviser to Chairwoman Mary Jo White on all issues involving the SEC. He was previously managing director, associate general counsel, and investment company general counsel at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Goldman Sachs spokesman Andrew Williams could not provide further information.
Mr. Donohue’s was previously with the SEC was as director of the division of investment management from May 2006 to November 2010.
