University of Houston System committed $22.5 million total to three private equity funds on behalf of its approximately $600 million endowment.
The system committed $7.5 million each to Denham Oil and Gas Fund I, EnerVest Energy Institutional Fund XIV and TrueBridge-Kauffman Fellows Endowment Fund IV, according to a webcast of Thursday’s endowment management committee meeting.
The Denham fund will focus on companies involved in oil and gas exploration; it is managed by Denham Capital Management. The system previously committed to Denham Commodity Partners Fund VI.
The EnerVest fund will invest in upstream oil and gas opportunities.
The TrueBridge-fund is a venture capital fund of funds managed by TrueBridge Capital Partners.
The system previously committed to predecessor funds TrueBridge-Kauffman Fellows Endowment Fund II and TrueBridge- Kauffman Fellows Endowment Fund III.
