FTSE Russell said asset owners are currently most interested in four different strategy- or factor-based investment approaches: low volatility, multifactor combination, value and fundamental.
Among these so-called smart beta strategies, low volatility is the most popular, with 67% of survey respondents saying they have, or are currently evaluating, such offerings.
Multifactor combination strategies were next (47%), followed by fundamental and value (41% each), according to a survey released Wednesday.
