Henry Orvin was named senior vice president, head of business development in the U.S. at Pioneer Investments, spokesman Geoff Smith said.
Mr. Orvin replaces Thomas Jones, who left the firm last year.
Mr. Orvin is responsible for strengthening the company’s partnerships with intermediary client firms and establishing new client relationships. He also leads a team of business development officers and portfolio consultants that provides full business and portfolio support to clients.
He is based in Boston and reports to Mark Spina, executive vice president and head of U.S. intermediary distribution.
Mr. Orvin was director, national accounts at Allianz Global Investors. It could not be learned by press time whether he was replaced; Allianz spokeswoman Megan Frank could not be reached.
Pioneer Investments had about $242 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
