Craig D. Sterling was named senior vice president, head of U.S. equity research at Pioneer Investments, spokesman Geoff Smith said.
Mr. Sterling replaces Paul Cloonan and John Peckham, previously co-heads of U.S. equity research. Going forward, Mr. Cloonan will focus on U.S. large-cap growth equity portfolio management, while Mr. Peckham will focus on U.S. value equity portfolio management.
Mr. Sterling is responsible for managing Pioneer’s team of 14 U.S. equity research analysts based in Boston. On May 29, he will become a portfolio manager on the firm’s research-based equity strategies. He will report to Marco Pirondini, executive vice president and head of U.S. equities.
Mr. Sterling was managing director and global head of equity research at EVA Dimensions. His responsibilities have been assumed by Mark Martini, executive managing director and head of global sales and product distribution, Mr. Martini said.
Pioneer Investments has about $242 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
