David Grim was named director of the division of investment management at the Securities and Exchange Commission, spokeswoman Judith Burns said.
Mr. Grim replaces Norm Champ, who resigned from the SEC at the end of January. Mr. Champ is currently a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School, teaching a course on investment management law.
Mr. Grim, who has been serving as acting director since Mr. Champ's departure, was previously deputy director. Ms. Burns said the SEC has not yet made any announcement on that position.
