Peter Mitchell joined alternative investment manager Crescent Capital Group as senior vice president of investor relations, spokesman Bill Mendel said.
The position is new. Mr. Mitchell will market Crescent's investment strategies to institutional investors.
Mr. Mitchell had been a senior portfolio specialist at Thornburg Investment Management. And before working for more than a decade in the financial industry, Mr. Mitchell was a tight end in the National Football League, playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants and Detroit Lions.
“We have no plans at this time to replace Pete,” said Rebecca Carrier, director of communications for Thornburg, in an e-mail.
