Real estate money managers love talking about their business in baseball terms. But Micolyn Magee, a principal at real estate consulting firm Townsend Group, put an end to that — at least temporarily — at the Pension Bridge annual conference April 7-8 in San Francisco.
Despite the conference falling during the opening week of the Major League Baseball season, for 45 minutes, Dennis G. Lopez, global chief investment officer at AXA Real Estate Investment Managers; Brian Nottage, managing director, global real assets at J.P. Morgan Asset Management; David Corpus, board of trustees, Teacher Retirement System of Texas; and Field Griffith, director, real assets at the Virginia Retirement System, spoke on a panel about real estate moderated by Ms. Magee without a single baseball analogy.
At the start of the discussion, Ms. Magee had imposed the moratorium on baseball analogies.
