Gilles Drukier was appointed client portfolio manager for European fixed-income insurance solutions at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Drukier reports to Gregory Tell, head of global fixed income insurance, pension and retirement solutions.
The firm’s global insurance solutions unit has $78.8 billion in general account assets under management.
“Post financial crisis and in the current environment, insurers and other large institutional investors continue to evolve their approach to investing,” said Matt Malloy, global head of institutional solutions and advisory at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, in a news release. “This is driven by a number of factors including available yields in traditional markets, regulatory dynamics and the associated need to access new markets and asset classes.” He said insurers are increasingly partnering with money managers.
Mr. Drukier was previously at J.P. Morgan’s investment bank, where he held a number of roles in the European financial institutions group.
