Joanne Wheatley joined Allianz Global Investors as head of U.K. institutional client services, a spokesman said.
The position is new.
Ms. Wheatley is based in London and reports to Philip Dawes, head of U.K. institutional. She works with clients to identify and explore new investment opportunities.
“(Ms. Wheatley) is joining at an exciting time for our institutional business in the U.K., with our footprint continuing to expand,” Mr. Dawes said in a news release. “With strong demand across a diverse range of asset classes, including infrastructure debt, multiasset, multifactor investing, global sustainability and global equities, it’s vital we ensure our client service keeps in step with our growth.”
Ms. Wheatley’s appointment also supports the firm’s work to grow its U.K. pensions business. AllianzGI has €412 billion ($439.6 billion) in assets under management.
Ms. Wheatley was previously a client director within BlackRock’s global client group, said the release. A spokesman for BlackRock was not available to comment by press time.
