Yale University, New Haven, Conn., hired TIAA-CREF as the sole record keeper of its four defined contribution plans, which total $4.4 billion in assets.
Previously, Vanguard Group and TIAA-CREF were the record keepers. A spokeswoman for TIAA-CREF said an RFP was issued for a sole record keeper in 2014 but had no information on whether Vanguard rebid for the services.
The fund lineups for the four plans consist of TIAA-CREF and Vanguard Group funds.
Hugh Penney, the university’s senior director, compensation and benefits, referred questions to TIAA-CREF.
