An analysis of the nuclear decommissioning trusts of listed utilities — based on SEC annual report filings — revealed asset gains in 2014. Average gains excluding Exelon, which purchased Constellation Energy, were 6.28% for the 10 companies with the most in NDT assets. Total NDT assets increased to $44.113 billion. Actual allocations were mostly unchanged among the 10, with the average allocation to equities decreasing slightly to 52.4% from 53.0%. The average fixed-income allocation was 43.0% vs. 43.2% in 2013. Other assets increased to 4.6% from 3.8%.
