Robyn Laidlaw was appointed head of institutional, Europe, at Vanguard, said a spokeswoman for the firm.
Ms. Laidlaw replaces Simon Vanstone, who died last year. Ms. Laidlaw currently is head of product and markets for Vanguard Australia. She will relocate to London in June.
She will report to John James, who will become head of the firm's European and U.K. business later this year; he is currently head of Vanguard's Australia operations.
Details on a successor to Ms. Laidlaw in Australia could not be learned by press time.
“(Ms. Laidlow) will be a valuable addition to our European management team as we continue to serve investors with our low-cost, high-value investment offering to give them the best chance for investment success,” said James Norris, managing director, Vanguard International, in a news release.
Ms. Laidlaw's appointment is subject to approval from the Financial Conduct Authority.
