San Francisco City & County Employees’ Retirement System committed up to $75 million total to venture capital and private equity funds, said Norm Nickens, board secretary.
The $20 billion pension fund’s board committed up to $50 million to Thoma Bravo Special Opportunities Fund II. An initial $35 million investment was made on March 27.
The retirement system’s board also committed up to $25 million to Ignition Venture Partners VI. An initial investment in the venture capital fund closed on March 26.
The retirement board approved both commitments in closed session on March 11.
