San Francisco City & County Employees’ Retirement System will issue an RFP on Monday for a board governance consultant, said Norm Nickens, board secretary.
The board’s current contract with Cortex Applied Research expires on June 30. Cortex can rebid.
The hired firm will consult with the $20 billion system’s retirement board related to fiduciary governance and management of the retirement system. It will also present, if requested, educational seminars on fiduciary governance topics.
Other responsibilities include developing additional governance policies as needed to identify or enhance accountability.
Proposals are due May 8, and a hiring decision is expected by mid-June. The RFP will be posted on the pension fund’s website.
