Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Los Angeles, hired TIAA-CREF as record keeper for its $343 million 401(k) plan and $110 million 457(b) plan, pending contract negotiations, said Bob Muir, spokesman, in an e-mail.
An RFP was issued in June because services had not gone out to bid in several years and the contract of incumbent record keeper Empower Retirement was due to expire. It could not be learned by press time whether Empower rebid.
