Rhode Island State Investment Commission, Providence, committed a total of $60 million to two funds, said Shana Autiello, spokeswoman for state Treasurer Seth Magaziner, who oversees the commission.
At its March 25 meeting, the commission approved a commitment of $30 million to Garrison Opportunity Fund IV, a distressed debt private equity-style fund managed by Garrison Investment Group.
The commission also approved at the meeting a commitment of $30 million to Lone Star Real Estate Fund IV, a real estate debt fund managed by Lone Star Funds.
The investment commission manages the $8.3 billion Rhode Island Employees’ Retirement System, Providence.
