Jason Morrow was named deputy chief investment officer of the Utah Retirement Systems, Salt Lake City, spokesman Brian Holland said in an e-mail.
Mr. Morrow, previously a portfolio manager focused on credit, replaces Larry Powell, who resigned as deputy CIO of the $26.2 billion pension fund in March 2014. It could not be learned by press time where Mr. Powell went.
Mr. Morrow assists CIO Bruce Cundick in planning, organizing and directing the investment functions of the pension fund.
A job posting for a replacement portfolio manager should be available on the retirement system’s website soon, Mr. Holland wrote.
