Berkeley (Mo.) Police/Fire Employees Retirement System is searching for a domestic core or core-plus fixed-income manager to run $4.5 million, said William E. Dahab, principal and director of research at Dahab Associates, the $13 million pension fund’s investment consultant.
The pension fund will accept proposals from active or passive domestic core or core-plus fixed-income managers. Currently the assets are invested in the PIMCO Total Return mutual fund, but the pension fund will accept separate account or commingled fund vehicles as well, Mr. Dahab said. Pacific Investment Management Co. is invited to rebid.
Mr. Dahab said the search is being conducted as a due diligence measure because the pension fund is a relatively new client of Dahab Associates, which was hired in October 2013.
The RFP is available on Dahab’s website. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. EDT on April 17. A timetable for a decision has yet to be determined.
Joshua W. Beeks, the city’s finance director, referred questions to Dahab Associates.
