The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries has changed its name to the American Retirement Association.
After dramatic growth in membership in recent years, the new name allows the Arlington, Va.-based organization, founded in 1966, to represent “the distinct perspectives of an expanding array of retirement plan professionals,” said CEO and Executive Director Brian Graff.
The newly named body is made up of four retirement-related industry associations: the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries, National Association of Plan Advisors and National Tax-Deferred Savings Association. With the name change, each group has a new logo and brand identity tied into a basic “nest egg” concept.
The American Retirement Association's 20,000 members include business owners, actuaries, consultants, administrators, insurance professionals, financial advisers, accountants, attorneys and human resource managers who work with all types of retirement plans.
