The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association is opening the CAIA Virtual Chapter.
The alternative investment education organization created the new chapter for those members among its 7,300 worldwide who do not belong to one of the 20 local chapters that meet regularly.
Those without a local chapter now have one to call their own, said William J. Kelly, CEO of the CAIA Association, in a news release.
“Technology allows us to bridge those gaps with a "virtual chapter,'” Mr. Kelly said, “which immediately becomes our largest chapter in terms of members. This is a unique approach for associations that we feel will bring value to our members globally.”
The chapter will launch this month with an interactive educational session on “Investment Practices of Sovereign Wealth Funds” and will include almost 2,200 CAIA members from more than 80 countries. The association sponsors more than 120 educational and networking events every year.
