Clackamas Fire District #1 Deferred Compensation and Matching Plans, Milwaukie, Ore., is searching for a single record keeper for its 401(a) and 457 plans, said Susan Geiger, the fire district’s finance director, in an e-mail.
The 401(a) plan’s current record keeper is Nationwide Financial and the 457 plan’s current record keepers are Clackamas Federal Credit Union, MassMutual Financial, Nationwide Financial, Oregon Savings Growth Plan, Security Benefit Life Insurance Co., Voya Financial and VALIC.
The district hired investment consultant Hyas Group in August to help simplify the plans. All current firms are invited to rebid.
Vincent Galindo, senior consultant at Hyas Group, said in a telephone interview that while the district intends to hire a single record keeper, it could hire more than one if that is the best deal for participants.
The plans have $30 million in combined assets.
The RFP is available on the district’s website. Proposals are due at 4 p.m. PDT on April 24. Finalist interviews are tentatively scheduled for July 21-22, with a selection date to be determined.
