Richard Johnson was named managing director, global head of institutional sales at money manager Campbell & Co., spokeswoman Meg Bode said in an e-mail.
It is a new position. Mr. Johnson will report to Michael Harris, president.
Mr. Johnson was previously managing director of strategic business development at fixed-income and mortgage-backed securities manager Ellington Management Group; officials at the firm could not be reached by press time.
Campbell & Co. has $5 billion in assets under management and is an absolute-return money manager that specializes in market-neutral equity strategies and systematic managed futures.
