Wendy Norris, a director on the Future Fund's infrastructure and timberland team, has been promoted to head of the team, the A$109.2 billion ($83.8 billion), Melbourne-based fund announced Friday.
Ms. Norris takes up oversight of the fund's A$8.1 billion infrastructure and timberland portfolio from Barry Brakey, head of property investments, who added that role on an interim basis after Raphael Arndt was elevated to chief investment officer in September, 2014.
In the announcement, Mr. Arndt said Ms. Norris was selected, following a global search, both for her domestic and international experience as well as her understanding of the Future Fund's “one portfolio” approach, where the merits of each investment are evaluated across asset class buckets.
In an email, Future Fund spokesman Will Hetherton said a search to fill Ms. Norris's prior position as a director on the infrastructure and timberland team will begin "in due course."
