William W. Smith Jr. was named principal, business development at DuPont Capital Management and Paul Leahy was named head of relationship management at the firm, spokeswoman Sara Minar said.
Mr. Smith replaced Timothy Sweeney, who was promoted to managing director, business development and client service. Mr. Leahy replaced Alex Ergon, who assumed the role of head of investment communications.
Mr. Smith is responsible for direct marketing and sales to institutional plans and consultants. Mr. Leahy, meanwhile, is focused on developing and maintaining DuPont Capital’s relationships with institutional clients and consultants.
They will both report to Mr. Sweeney.
Mr. Smith was a sales executive at Vanguard Group, while Mr. Leahy was a director and senior relationship manager for Boston Co. Asset Management. Vanguard spokeswoman Emily White declined to comment on a replacement. Boston Co. spokesman Mike Dunn said the firm has no plans to replace Mr. Leahy.
DuPont Capital has more than $32 billion in assets under management.
