Kevin Olineck was named administrator of the $8 billion Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, Phoenix, spokesman Christian Palmer said.
Mr. Olineck replaces James Hacking, who was terminated from his position in July by the board of trustees when it was learned he initiated salary hikes for some investment staff without proper approval.
Mr. Olineck is currently vice president of member services for the British Columbia Pension Corp., which provides pension administration services for some BC public pension funds. He will join PSPRS in October, contingent upon his receiving H-1B visa approval from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Jared Smout, the pension fund's deputy administrator, has been serving as interim administrator since Mr. Hacking's departure and will resume his previous duties upon Mr. Olineck's arrival.
