David Walker joined F&C Investments as investment director, F&C private equity funds, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new, and Mr. Walker is based in Edinburgh.
Mr. Walker focuses on European strategies, co-investments and renewable investments. He reports to Hamish Mair, head of the private equity funds team.
Mr. Walker previously was head of infrastructure funds at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, a news release said. Spokesmen at the EIB could not be reached for comment by press time.
F&C is a subsidy of BMO Global Asset Management, which has about $272 billion of assets under management.
