William Shaw was named head of segregated property mandates, Asia-Pacific, at Aberdeen Asset Management.
The Singapore-based position is new, said Cammy Loh, a spokeswoman for Aberdeen.
Mr. Shaw was a managing director and a consultant for real estate investors at Everview Capital Partners in Hong Kong. An Everview Capital spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
Russell Chaplin, Aberdeen’s property chief investment officer, said in a news release that Aberdeen is currently the second-largest property asset manager in Europe, and the appointment of Mr. Shaw reflects the firm’s ambition to “replicate that success in Asia.”
