Anastasia Titarchuk was appointed deputy chief investment officer of the New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, said Matthew Sweeney, a spokesman for state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the sole trustee of the $181.7 billion pension fund.
The position is new, Mr. Sweeney said in an interview. Ms. Titarchuk reports to pension fund CIO Vicki Fuller.
Mr. DiNapoli announced the promotion of Ms. Titarchuk on Tuesday. She had been director of absolute-return strategies, and joined the pension fund in 2011. She has been responsible for a portfolio of about $6.1 billion, made up of hedge funds, Mr. Sweeney said.
Before joining the pension fund, Ms. Titarchuk was director of international derivatives sales at Bank of America, according to a news release from Mr. DiNapoli's office.
A successor to Ms. Titarchuk as director of absolute-return strategies could not be immediately determined.
