El Paso fire and police plan commits to Insight Venture Partners co-investment fund

El Paso (Texas) Firemen & Policemen Pension Fund committed $8 million to Insight Venture Partners Growth-Buyout Co-Investment Fund, pending legal review, said Mark Austin, deputy director, in an e-mail.

The fund targets minority and control growth investments in software- and Internet-focused companies. The $1.3 billion pension fund has a 10% target allocation to private equity.

Investment consultant Meketa Investment Group assisted.
