Eoin Murray joined Hermes Investment Management as head of investment office, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Murray now takes on the role previously held by Saker Nusseibeh. Mr. Nusseibeh, who became CEO in May 2012, had joined Hermes in 2009 as head of investment, where he set up the investment office. When he became CEO, he remained head of investment, the spokeswoman said.
Reporting to Mr. Nusseibeh, Mr. Murray leads the investment office, which gives the go-ahead to all new investment strategies at the firm, and is also responsible for monitoring the risk-adjusted performance of these strategies.
Hermes Investment Management has £28.6 billion ($43.5 billion) in assets under management.
Mr. Murray was previously at GSA Capital Partners. A spokesman for the firm confirmed he had worked there, but declined to comment further.
