St. Louis Firefighters’ Retirement Plan is searching for a domestic smidcap equity manager to run $3 million to $5 million, said Janice Fairless, human resources specialist for the pension fund.
The $20 million pension fund was created Feb. 1, 2013, and currently has its assets in two Vanguard Group index mutual funds.
The pension fund is considering long-only strategies, either active or passive, and is also considering core, growth and value strategies, said William Dahab, principal and director of research at Dahab Associates, the pension fund’s investment consultant.
The RFP is available on Dahab’s website. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. EST on March 4. A timetable for a decision has yet to be determined.
The pension fund previously issued an RFP for a global fixed-income manager in December and is interviewing finalists in that search Feb. 13, Ms. Fairless said. She would not name the finalists.
