Christopher Hall was named managing director and a senior portfolio manager on the Asia fundamental equities team at BlackRock, while Martin Small was named managing director and head of BlackRock’s exchange-traded fund business in the U.S.
Both positions are new. Mr. Hall will have research responsibilities across the Asia-Pacific region and assume management of portfolios later in the year, spokeswoman Georgette Lee-Tong said. He will report to Andrew Swan, managing director and head of Asian fundamental equities.
Mr. Small will report to Mark Wiedman, senior managing director and global head of BlackRock’s iShares business, spokeswoman Melissa Garville said.
Mr. Hall was senior investment officer at Argo Investments. It could not be learned by press time whether he was replaced.
Mr. Small was previously co-head of BlackRock’s U.S. client business in its financial markets advisory unit. His responsibilities will be redistributed to the other team members.
