Tracy Blackwell was appointed deputy CEO at Pension Insurance Corp., said a spokesman for the firm, a specialist insurer of defined benefit pension funds.
The position is new. It is a transition role, because Ms. Blackwell will become CEO at PIC on June 30. She will succeed current CEO John Coomber, who will retire on that date. Mr. Coomber will remain a member of PIC’s board.
Until June 30, Ms. Blackwell will also continue in her role as chief investment officer at the firm. PIC is searching for a replacement, the spokesman said.
In her role as CIO, Ms. Blackwell has been responsible for managing the firm’s £14 billion ($21.2 billion) of assets under management. She joined when the firm was founded in 2006.
“One of the things we pride ourselves on at PIC is the strength and cohesion of our management team, and I am delighted that we have found a successor for (Mr. Coomber) from that team,” said Sir Mark Weinberg, chairman of the PIC board, in a news release.
