Ryan Bisch joined Ontario Power Generation as director, private markets, for the firm's investment funds, a spokesman said in an e-mail.
It is a new position. Mr. Bisch focuses on the management of the infrastructure and special opportunities portfolios for the C$12 billion ($9.6 billion) OPG Pension Fund, Toronto, and the C$16 billion Ontario Nuclear Funds, also Toronto, the spokesman said.
Mr. Bisch's role covers both fund commitments and co-investments in infrastructure. “(Mr. Bisch) has experience in a variety of real asset classes and has recently provided advice to several large institutions on their infrastructure co-investments,” the spokesman said.
Mr. Bisch was previously principal at Mercer, where he was head of the alternatives boutique in Canada within the consultant's investment business, and was also North American market leader of Mercer's infrastructure team. A spokeswoman for Mercer confirmed his departure. Further details were not available by press time.
