Aurora (Colo.) General Employees' Retirement Plan put PIMCO on watch because of the departure of William H. Gross, PIMCO's co-founder and chief investment officer, said Tom Connell, pension plan administrator.
The $405 million pension fund has about $50 million invested in Pacific Investment Management Co.'s Total Return strategy. Mr. Gross left PIMCO on Sept. 26.
PIMCO representatives have been invited to the pension fund's money manager meeting on Feb. 26 to answer additional questions and provide additional information about the strategy, Mr. Connell said.
