Olivia Ouyang joined Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in Hong Kong as director of the C$140.8 billion (US$117.9 billion) plan’s private capital efforts.
The position is a new one for the Toronto-based fund’s Hong Kong office, which was opened 15 months ago, said a spokesman for the pension fund in Hong Kong.
Ms. Ouyang comes from China Investment Corp., a Beijing-based $653 billion sovereign wealth fund, where she served as a managing director in the fund’s private equity investment department.
A CIC spokesman couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
An Ontario Teachers’ announcement Friday said Ms. Ouyang will manage the plan’s relationships with its general partners across Asia, as well as managing its “fund and co-investments into private equity opportunities throughout the region.”
