Commonfund has recruited two new directors, said spokesman Anthony Ialeggio.
Brian Rondeau was named director of risk management and Alex Gurvich was appointed director of Commonfund’s asset management group.
Mr. Rondeau replaced Vivian Lee-Shiue, while Mr. Gurvich replaced Irakli Odisharia, both of whom have left Commonfund. Mr. Ialeggio did not know where Ms. Lee-Shiue or Mr. Odisharia went.
Mr. Rondeau will be responsible for the due diligence on external managers and counterparty credit risk. Mr. Gurvich will focus on equities and is responsible for performing quantitative research on asset allocation, risk management and portfolio construction. Mr. Gurvich also will support Commonfund’s outsourced services.
Mr. Rondeau will report to David Belmont, chief risk management officer, while Mr. Gurvich will report to Jess Gaspar, managing director and head of quantitative research.
Mr. Rondeau was vice president, risk, at Harvard Management Co. Mr. Gurvich was a co-founding managing partner and quantitative equity portfolio manager at The Rockledge Group.
It could not be learned if they were replaced by press time. HMC spokeswoman Emily Guadagnoli declined to comment; calls to Rockledge were not returned.
