Michael O'Brien was appointed CEO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in J.P. Morgan Asset Management's global investment management business, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. O'Brien replaces Peter Schwicht, who retired in October, and reports to Chris Willcox, CEO of global investment management.
Mr. O'Brien is also co-head of global investment management solutions for the firm — a role he retains — alongside Jed Laskowitz. Mr. Laskowitz also holds the role of CEO of global investment management Asia-Pacific.
Earlier this week, John Donohue was named CEO of investment management Americas.
J.P. Morgan Asset Management has $1.71 trillion of assets under management.
