Sumit Handa resigned as chief investment officer of the Philadelphia Board of Pensions and Retirement, said Francis Bielli, executive director of the $4.5 billion pension system.
Mr. Handa, who has been the pension fund’s CIO since June 2011, will leave effective Jan. 15. The board will discuss seeking a replacement in an upcoming meeting.
Mr. Bielli did not immediately know Mr. Handa’s plans. Mr. Handa did not return a phone call.
