Hiroshi Kimura joined ING Investment Management as CEO of ING IM Japan, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Kimura replaces Douglas Hymas, who joined BNY Mellon in August as country executive for Japan and general manager of the firm’s Tokyo branch.
Mr. Kimura started Monday. He was previously managing director of client relations and communications, leading third-party distribution, at AllianceBernstein, said a news release from ING IM. A spokesman for AllianceBernstein could not be reached for comment by press time.
“(Mr. Kimura’s) breadth of expertise fits well with our strategic ambitions, and his leadership skills will contribute greatly to ING IM’s growth plans in Japan,” said Martin Nijkamp, management board member, in the news release.
