Houston Firefighters’ Relief & Retirement Fund committed $30 million total to two private equity managers, pending due diligence and contract negotiations, said Linda P. Calnan, interim chief investment officer, in an e-mail.
The $3.8 billion pension fund committed $20 million to Horsley Bridge XI Venture, a venture capital fund managed by Horsley Bridge Partners.
HFRRF previously committed $20 million to predecessor fund Horsley Bridge X Venture.
Also, the pension fund committed an additional $10 million to private equity fund Blue Point Capital Partners III. Investment staff committed up to $20 million to the fund in May.
The pension fund had a 9.4% allocation to private equity as of June 30.
