George Washington University, Washington, hired Strategic Investment Group as its outsourced chief investment officer, effective immediately.
David Green, GWU associate vice president for financial operations and assistant treasurer, will manage the relationship.
In March, George Washington began the search for an outsourced CIO for its $1.57 billion endowment “to take advantage of the broad expertise and experience that a large firm can offer,” spokeswoman Maralee Csellar said in an e-mail.
Don Lindsey, the endowment's previous CIO, left the school Oct. 31. He was named CIO of the American Institutes for Research in November, to oversee a portfolio of about $125 million.
