Ventura County (Calif.) Employees' Retirement Association is searching for a chief investment officer, an announcement on the pension fund's website said.
The $4.4 billion pension fund does not currently have a chief investment officer.
The selected candidate will serve as an “in-house investment expert and act as a liaison to the board's investment consultant and investment managers providing independent analysis of their investment proposals; administer, monitor and evaluate the investment program, including asset allocation, and rebalancing under the authority of the board; and plan and develop investment strategies,” according to a job posting on CPS HR Consulting's website; CPS HR is the executive search firm assisting with the search.
Some responsibilities will be shared the pension fund's chief financial officer, Henry Solis.
The job posting is available on CPS' website. The deadline for applications is Jan. 26.
