Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System, Des Moines, is searching for a firm to provide actuarial audit services.
The $27.7 billion pension fund seeks an independent audit and evaluation of actuarial services provided to the retirement system by its consulting actuary, Cavanaugh Macdonald Consulting, including the plan valuation and actuarial required contribution rates.
Iowa PERS does such an actuarial audit every six years, Judy Akre, IPERS spokeswoman, said in an e-mail.
The RFP is available on Iowa PERS’ website. Proposals are due Jan. 23. The pension fund expects to make a decision March 6.
The pension fund’s board expects the auditing firm to present its final actuarial audit report on June 25.
