Maine Public Employees Retirement System, Augusta, made three commitments totaling up to $185 million, said Andrew Sawyer, chief investment officer, in an e-mail.
The $12.6 billion pension fund committed up to $60 million to KKR Special Situations (Domestic) Fund II, an event-driven and distressed debt fund managed by KKR & Co. The pension fund's most recent commitment to a KKR fund was up to $200 million to KKR Global Infrastructure Investors II in April.
Also, the pension fund committed up to $50 million to Westbrook Real Estate Fund X, an opportunistic real estate fund managed by Westbrook Partners. The pension fund previously committed up to $25 million to Westbrook Real Estate Fund IX in April.
Separately, the pension fund made an additional commitment of up to $75 million to IFM Global Infrastructure Fund, an infrastructure fund managed by IFM Investors. The pension fund originally committed $75 million to the fund in December 2012.
