Mark Connolly was named chief investment officer, fixed income at Aviva Investors, spokesman Steve Ainger said.
Mr. Connolly replaces Jean-Francois Boulier, who had been acting CIO, fixed income. Mr. Boulier will continue in his role as CEO, France.
Mr. Connolly will be responsible for developing and implementing Aviva Investors’ fixed-income strategies, overseeing a global team accounting for more than £160 billion ($250.5 billion) in assets. He will report to Aviva Investors CEO Euan Munro.
Mr. Connolly was a director and head of fixed income at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. His responsibilities have been assumed by Brad Crombie, global head of Aberdeen Asset Management’s fixed-income business, spokesman James Thorneley said. Aberdeen acquired SWIP in April.
