Louisiana Firefighters’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, hired BlackRock to run $146 million in a passive domestic core fixed-income portfolio, recently released board meeting minutes said.
Funding comes from the $1.4 billion pension fund’s termination of Pacific Investment Management Co. from its $146 million active domestic core fixed-income portfolio, due to the departure of William H. Gross, PIMCO’s co-founder and chief investment officer, on Sept. 26.
Steven Stockstill, executive director at the pension fund, did not reply to a request for further information by press time.
